Hello, thanks for visit, My problems is: I just update the title and the tag of the homepage, is there any way to make the google bot to crawl the site and then update the homepage that has been indexed? Thanks!
Just submit to Google or update your sitemap (or create one if you have none) and wait for Google to do its job...
Submitting a sitemap seems to be the best option. Because many people have experienced Google crawling the site hours after submitting the sitemap.
A sitemap helped me a lot. I didn't even think I need it considering it is a small website, but it also helps you in your webmaster account to track errors on your pages.
Thanks for your reply, Yes, i have submited the sitemap of my site. So, re-submit the sitemap will possibly make the googlebot crawl the site in few hours?
Thanks, trichnosis. I will try to get more backlinks. And one more problem, i found there are 3 options in the crawl rate of my google accout(webmaster tool): Faster, Normal, and Slower. But the 'Faster' is unavailable, it says" At this time, crawl rate is not a factor in your site's crawl." How can i make it available? Backlinks also? My site's PR =2 so far. Thanks.
There is no way of making the google crawler visit your site faster through code. Ways to do that are sitemaps/increasing back links/making site more optimised/submitting to social bookmarking services and e few more, but they take time too. You can't make Google crawl your site whenever you want.
META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="x days" I have received mixed reveiws about adding this meta code...I certainly have been getting crawled more since adding it (set to 2 days)... Any one else have any advice about this (or other) codes to get crawled more frequently?
Also if you are using blog software, you can ping various services like Ping-o-Matic or add a list of ping sites to your automatic ping list.
Yes, sitemap is the best way in order to crawl the googlebot quickly because it contains the links from your other pages in one-page.
Did you ping google http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=http://<your site>/sitemap.xml
