    hi
I was looking for a suitable domain for my blog and I found that the .com, .net domains are already taken.
so, is there anyway to find the expiry date of the current domain?
    any help will be appreciated.

Search the domain in http://www.domaintools.com/ and scroll down to the bottom, there's something like { Expiration Date:xxx} that's it!

True, only shorter names are better and easier to remember.
whois.sc is also faster to type and saves you time while you do research and work at the same time.
