Is there any way to increase the resolution of video file?

    I need a piece of software that can increase the resolution of a video file. does anyone know where and if I can find such software?

    No mate.

    Once a video file is created, its resolution is fixed.

    You can always bring DOWN the resolution of a video, but never increase it.

    There is software that increases resolution algorythmically by taking previous and future frames, matching objects within the frames and aggregating data from multiple frames to form a higher resolution composite. The nature of the process means it's only effective with certain types of footage, where an object remains relatively static for a period within the view. The technology has been used for years in security applications, but there are watered down versions available e.g topazlabs.com. I'm not sure how effective their plugins are though.
