Hi, I am still very much new in web development.. I am picking up CSS basic ideas and practicing them on basic web templates.. what i want to achieve is that i can convert almost any web template to CSS and XHTML.. My problem is not with coding and understanding the language.. the prob starts when a psd comes infront of me and i get confuse where to start slicing, how to pick up elements that i would repeat in css horizontally/vertically.. and which i wont.. Is there any dedicated Video tutorial on just slicing a PSD for CSS/HTML ? I want the tutor to start off with a psd.. slice it.. and code it to CSS/HTML.. Kindly guide me on getting any such video tutorial.. Asking for videos only cause interactive learning is much more fast for me.
I learnt it from the adobe website... it had a tutorial (a written one) and it was relevant to me since i use the adobe tools (dreamweaver and fireworks), but it's a good explanation
There are plenty of tutorials on the web for slicing PSD to CSS, but many find its not the best way as the coding is limited and not valid, the way i normally do it, is by finding a free css template similiar design to the one ive created and work around that. Found this via a google search: http://www.duclaux.net/blog/how-to-...ecise-tutorial-with-illustrations/2006/02/08/ or http://csshowto.com/layout/psd-to-csshtml-in-easy-steps-part-1/ Matt
