Is there any to determine the # of search results in the past?

    I'm wondering if there is any way to determine how Google search results there were for a specific phrase in the past. For example, is it possible to find out data that would say "Phrase X" returned 1,000 results in Google a year ago and today it returns 50,000? Does anyone know of a way to do that?

    yes actually there is www.nichebot.com it shows you how many searches were done for any phrase on google for the past 12 months so you do the math and calculate the averages

    But neither of those tools show you how many results were avialable which is what they are looking for.
