is there any talk about google paying attention to host's IPs?

    from what i've read and heard, if you have a collection of websites and they're all linking to each other, and they're all under the same webhost (like they're all hosted under Freewebs and all have the same IP), then Google can & will penalize you for doing this. cause since i've been expanding my IM & webmaster career, i figure it might be a good idea to link my sites together for better PR and SERPs.

    anyone have any insight on this?
