Seriously, what is it with alexa... Our rating stayed the EXACT same # for 3 days straight... thats impossible. I'm showing a massive growth on our logs yet alexa is pretty much standing still... Also it seems that, when they actually do update its not until around 5pm...
yeah i dont like the way alexa displays my sites. they should at least tell us when they update their db.
One of my sites stayed the same for almost a month now...still no update while the site's traffic doubled. I tend not tu rely on Alexa's rankings anyway.
I think in our SurchBAR that is coming out I'm going to add some alexa like features to give people an alternative. We are already coming out with SurchRANK to give an alternative to PR so I might as well. Its just ridiculous that companies that large don't even bother to notify the pub. when they are down for days on end... Also I think in their scan there should be a field in robot.txt for "downtime" so that it doesn't affect your ranking. As we are just coming out of beta we have taken the site down or temp. out of service from time to time to make changes or updates so it spikes my ratings which I'm not sure is all in all that fair...at least it could take an average or something in place of dropping you down to 0... What do you think?
GO ahead man, I'd support you. It would be nice to have an alternative to Google's PR. I can see your site getting somewhere...
