No latest - just hard work. You might wanna try on-page optimization as well as promoting your website and not worry about backlinking as much...
With whitehat tips you will work hard but go into blackhat trips you will work less but got lots of advantage but we are recommend as blackhat are illegal to G TOS in SEO.
^There are quit a few interesting plugins that automatically creates backlinks as soon as you post articles,but they aren't free,and it's sort of blackhat,wich i don't know if it's allowed in here.
Google has recently put more weight on social platforms like twitter (Facebook and Google +). They say this is now key in any SEO campaign. I imagine that as Google+ rolls out more features SEO will rely a lot more heavily on social platforms. I know its nothing new but its what I spend a lot of time on and see some powerful results as well as people linking to me more naturally.
