Is there any need for keyword tool?

Why should we need keyword tool? I think it would be sufficient if we can pick the right keywords for SEO ourselves without depending on any tool. What do you think?

Sometimes they're a decent guideline on where to start but I agree, we probably don't need to use them as much as we do.

I think we'd be insane not to use one. finding long tail keywords that you can easily rank for and bring in good traffic is vital. You can use it to understand what people are searching for in your niche (I am something of an 'expert' in one of my niches and it still amazes me the odd things people search for) and mak sure that you

    a) are getting that traffic
    b) are giving people what they want

When you also consider it's importance to PPC you realise that keyword tools are one of the most important tools in the Internet Marketers arsenal. If you are not getting value from it you are not using it right

Yes i agree with you prasanth, but with the help of keyword tool you can see the competition on a keyword and then local searches on that keyword.

You have to use a keyword tool to assess what the competiton is and how many people are searching for it.

yeah its all about knowing what your competition is. You can just "Decide you want the keyword :Make money online" But you probably arent going to get ANYWHERE without spending some good solid cash.

Not really in practice. If you don't use any keyword tool you really cant understand what really converts or works for you. Over all it will be like a trial and error method for you where in you need to keep on refining yourself every week/month

I think this would be almost impossible. You know how many combinations and variations of keywords and key phrases exist out there ? Without any keyword research tool, I think that the SEO task would be a lot harder and complex.

A keyword tool is important particularly if you are working with lots of keywords. 1-10 keyword is ok since you can work on them manually, but if you are talking of more than 10 keywords then you will likely need to use a bit of automation. Else you will be working the whole day on keywords alone.

The proper keyword research method is spy competitor websites which keyword they are targeting use those keyword and get some keyword ideas from using keyword tool such as Google Adwords or Wordtracker there are many tools you can find online but this two keyword tools are best.

    Cheers

As they say, "You can't manage what you don't measure." So yes, we need keyword tools. How else would you know which keywords are really worth trying to get traffic from?
