Is there any major harm to using social bookmarking autosubmitters?

I desperately need to start submitting my posts to some social bookmark sites. I've come across some free programs like socialmarker and onlywire, but before I get involved wit them, I wanted to ask and find out if there's any good reason not to use them - I don't want to submit to 50 social bookmark sites only to find out that Google is penalizing me for submitting 50 at a time.

    Thanks!

Thank Lee. I'll give manual a shot, and see if I can stand it.

    Thanks!

It really depends on what you are submitting and where.

Manual or automated: If you try to submit an antique site to a social site like slashdot or dzone then your activity is plain useless and your login details/IP may be blocked by these social sites as they are technology sites and have no interest in other sort of bookmarks
