Is there any length limit of url?

Hi, newbie here. I have a question and need some expert opinion. Is there any length limit of url? I am thinking to rewrite my keyword into url but i afraid search engines will ignore it if it exceed the length limit. Any comment? Thanks in advance.

As far as SEO is concerned length of url does not matter.
