Hi! Four weeks ago i bought a domain name by Godaddy and launched my site on the net. After two weeks i got a lot of traffic but no sells at all. I am scared for the sandbox because my site goes down down down then. I hope i can get it stabilized by then and that the first sells will be. Do you people have any good suggestions/ tips for me to have more buying traffic or to how avoid the sandbox? Greetz Ruperz
Mate, usually i develop a site and i start to monetize it 3 months later... so, meanwhile you gotta work on it: content, link campaigns etc
thanks for the reply scubita. I am maybe from the generation that wants results to quick. It is better to buy a used domain name then?
I would not buy traffic, keep building relevant content and your traffic+sales will stabalize and increase more steadily.
I have found that even if a site ranks well at first, there is usually a huge drop off somewhere in the 3 - 6 week period that lasts for about 3 weeks. I would not worry about being sand boxed, unless of course you are doing something you really shouldn't be If you are having problems converting site visitors into customers I would recommend a couple of things. 1. Determine a benchmark Do some research and find out what a good conversion rate is for your industry. I have seen some conversion rates considered excellent as little as 0.3% and some conversion rates at almost 5% and beyond. How many visitors turn into customers out of one hundred? I typically shoot for three. 2. Conversion Copy writing Study other sites in your industry to see which sites have the best sales pitches etc. Don't duplicate their content because this will cause you to seriously be hurt in the search engines, simply try to identify their intro and closing techniques. If you have a product that with a good profit margin and a potential niche in Google, you may consider hiring a conversion copywriter. You can only be an expert at so many things. I like to bring in specialist when I work on my projects because it typically results in better success.
Thanks Atticus1 that is some really good advice. I didnt know there was something like conversion copy writers and conversion rates! I'm gonna look that up for my niches. Again Thanks!
Keep working on it slowly and over time it will come up. I would not rush at it, you are looking at a few months at least to get started. If you want to test the water some for your site and product try google adwords.
