I am starting to tire of my songs on my iPod and was trying to find out what is new and good. The problem is that I am over 30 now and live in foreign country. I guess I need a 18-24 year old male to school me on some new stuff. I like mostly underground stuff including reggae/dub, punk, surf, hip-hop, some rock. I don't like techno, but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Post your favorites and recommendations please. Thanks

Anybody like Slightly Stoopid and things like that? I will check the Linkin Park, but looking for something a little less MTVish. Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Hmm, well here's a few that are not quite as mainstream as the other suggestions (links to actual music included): - the Mars Volta discography (prog rock from the core members of At the Drive In) Their latest album is Amputecture - Peeping Tom - Hip Hop from Mike Patton (Mr Bungle, Tomahawk, Faith No More, Fantomas, etc)
Great suggestions, I will definitely check out the Peeping Tom one, once I get past all the porn and find the actual music. I loved Mr. Bungle, even some Faith No More.
Well i would suggest you to google some keywords for new music etc. lol that will be the easiest way lol
LOL, I think he want to read some sincere HUMAN recommendations to hear fresh new music. soju: If you were at USA, you could use pandora.com also, but I guess you can't now.
try linkin park new album.... or if ur really like underground... ------------------------------ Nirvana-Smells like a teen spirit Mettalica-Saint Anger Disturbed-Down with the sickness Papa Roach-Between angels and insects, Last Resort Saliva-I walk alone Evanescence-Bring me to life Limp Bizkit-Take a look around -------------------------------
Exactly. I haven't been able to access pandora for a while, and I do want to hear from people. I have tried countless variations in Google search to find like minded people, but to no avail.
browsing through the iTunes store and seeing what other customers have bought is a good way to find related, good music to whatever you like... I've found a lot this way
My pick of good recent albums. Punk/indie/rock Arctic Monkeys, The Cribs, The Pigeon detectives, the white stripes, modest mouse, The fratellis, Dirty Pretty things, The View, Holloways Dance/electronic The Klaxons, LCD soundsystem,
I can't believe no one has mentioned The White Stripes' new single/album. It's called "Icky Thump", and well, it's amazing! I suggest downloading it immediately- it has fresh lyrics and music that is different from the mainstream music that floods the radios.
I mentioned it on the post above you I just named the artists though and mentioned recent albums. My favourite album of the year so far is the arctic monkeys, amazing stuff again, and from last year (this year in the USA) the fratellis is a very good album. As for Ecky thump (as says in yorkshire, like) It's a nice album, first four songs are very good, but rest of the album just ok.
