probably so, it seems there is an effect of almost everything. I read it shouldn't be more than around 2%.
I have heard this around that keyword density no longer plays role in SEO but my experience tells me that it should be around 2%. This percentage is of your web page's total text that includes the ALT tags of images.
even if it is not in the big G algo's anymore, here is something to consider. If you "stuff" your keywords onto your articles and posts, readers will pick up on it and be turned off. I know I would and am. If I am reading something and I feel the author is trying to push a phrase too often, I am gone. I still read that Keyword Density should stay between 2-3% with 4% being a MAX! cheers greg
Absolutely! The exact percentage is hard to say though. Just make sure you have your exact phrase on the page at least a couple of times.
In my experience, I don't think it's that important even though a lot of "seo gurus" suggest it is. Although I can't disprove it (like many things in seo), it's very common to see a site with little keyword density outranking a site with more keyword density. My preference is to focus on creating good content for the visitor themselves
keyword density helps your site a lot because if you think logically then you will understand that when you write a content for your website then how google categorize it as what the site is all about. Apart from the relevant backlinks your keyword density helps the search engine to distinguise your site from others. but yes there are proper ways too as you can't make keyword stuffing. 2-3% of using relevant keyword is beneficial for the site. Try to use synonyms of your targated keywords rather than repeting it again and again.
However, there must a difference between "Good" and "Spam" keyword density. I have seen many peoples using keyword..keyword..keyword, which really looks awkward to the readers. Google also has started ignoring such games.
