Is there any difference between SMM and SMO?

I haven't tried SMM, But I am involved in SMO. It stands for social media optimization in which we create company profiles on social networking websites like facebook, myspace, linkedin, twitter etc. And pomote the created profiles by making friends, Joining groups, Posting daily activities etc. It helps us in increasing traffic to the targeted site.

Social media optimization aims to maximize the possibilities that viewers will visit the business website by nurturing links and mentions in social media networks.

 

SMM is usefulll for the product base website to promote thier product in social networking site as well as product submission site.it does not bother about improving pagerank.SMO is a social networking activites includes social networking participant as well as forum posting,blog commenting,and many more SEO activities.

 

SMO is social media optimisation means optimization you website in the social network like twitter, facebook etc.this is done even paid.
while SMM is Social Media Marketing its usually done to promote the product in the social sites like myspace, bibo etc.

SMO is about Social Media Optimization where SMM is about Social Media Marketing (I believe). what is the difference ? I found no difference. Both are same procedure and same result.

Now herе iѕ wherе thе difference starts.SMO is the act optimizing a website tо allow user/others tо share the content vіa social media sites. One thing that a webmaster5 might do tо optimize one’s sites iѕ add the”Digg This” button tо the bottom of articles etc.

 

There is a difference, SMM (Social Media Marketing) simply tries to market your brand on the social media networks, while SMO (Social Media Optimisation) tris to get visitors to your website, ofcourse most just interchange the two
