Is there any designer on this forum that keep their word?

Get this crap I needed a template. Not a biggie right? I have a budget and this guy falls with in. Does good work and has a good rep here. So I figure why not and give him the job. Says I will have a preview by 6pm yesterday. Nothing absolutely nothing. I have now written the deposit I gave off because this smuck obviously is not gonna do the work.

What I want to know is there a graphic designer on this forum that keeps their word anymore?

Who was it? How long did you give them? I mean something could have happened, something came up, it is holiday season.

There are people who keep their word on here, they arn't hard to find really.

 

That was my first thought also Twisted. He came on msn for about 3 seconds last night. I will not mention any names I do not trash peoples rep. I gave him 3 days I understand that is not up yet. BUT he was the one that said he would have a preview at least not me.

I don't blame you, but I guess I always try to think highly of people (it's bad sometimes).

Hope you didn't loose much from the deposit and hope you can find someone else to do it.

Still, he won't refund....

 

I do not want a refund here. I do not care that he took me for the cash. No did not lose much twisted and I am hoping I can. I try to keep good thoughts in mind about people. I can do this kind of work myself but thought I would help someone else out and maybe just maybe karma would smile on this venture.

has a lot of decent designers here ( like me heheh ) but you always will find people that work bad or dont keep their word..

give it a day im sure you will get more then you expect i have found that designers run in there own time right when they think its viewable they see that last detail

 

Thank You sundaybrew I may have to look them up. ingridk if you had replied you probably would have had the job For some reason I find females have more imagination in the uses of color. Just my two cents though.

I'm a designer and I've been scammed by buyers. People go to 3-5 designers and ask for the same job, and say the will pay well and might give you a bonus, you do the work and they only pay the designer they like. That leaves 4 designers that made fully functional sites unpaid and with sites they basically can't resell because they were custom.

It goes both ways and it sucks for all of us.

And I agree about girls being better designers () I just thing we pay more attention to styles that are currently popular and what looks good, as well as getting the right color balances. Guys are more into stuff that "looks cool" but might look cheap in a month or two.

I agree it goes both ways. Thing is I know what I want and if I make a deal with someone else I let others know so they do not waste their time. I am very specific about things upfront. It is how I do business and do not like it any other way.

I usually don't bother to even give them bad rep or negative iTrader. I don't care. I make a whole lot more good deals than bad ones. Just move on and sometimes its good to warn the community about the user. But don't think that all designers are scammers.

 

Never once did I say the word scammer. I have a tendency to trust what other people reps say about them. I am going on and have not left anything for them. I was just wondering if people's word means anything to them anymore was all.
