I am interested in creating websites like (microsoft.com, pcworld.com etc) Is there any unique website creators other than frontpage, dreamweaver ? AJAX based sites look extremely polished and modern edit : It's also named as Web 2.0 style websites
The development tool you use has no effect on the design and functionality of the site, that's up to the developer and designer (humans) themselves
The development tool has a major effect on the output. I was stunned to see my friend who doesn't even know how to use Photoshop/Flash/CorelDraw etc creating a professional animated banner. He said that he used a 3rd party tool to create his design. I believe that better design comes according to the developers skills. but 3rd party tools and pluggins can make a newbie do things in the easy way and it saves a lot of time too. example : text animation (Flash takes 30 mins + 3rd party tool like Flax can do it in less than a minute) Who can recommend me a powerful web designing tool to create Web 2.0 style websites ??
I recommend getting yourself Visual Studio Express and the AJAX Web Extensions for .NET. I use the professional versions, and while there is a learning curve admittedly, find that they do the job nicely. msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express ajax.asp.net
Those aren't 'development' tools, those are media tools. Those affect the presentation. The development tools handle the code, not the appearance
Exactly !! thats what I'm looking for (media tools, in your words) I want to create sites sites similar to this (check the following link) http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/current-style.cfm these sites impact both the code and appearance. I'm just wondering if i can get an easy to use web creator which can handle the task.
You best bet is to find a .png or .psd template that you can use, and customize it to your site's needs with PhotoShop or FireWorks. here's one: http://www.photoshoplab.com/web20-design-kit.html another: http://photoshopit.wordpress.com/20...eek-web-20-lookin-header-and-web-page-layout/ and some buttons: http://iris-design.info/design/web-20-style-buttons-psd-sources/
Template monster is the best place to find website templates in my opinion. http://www.templatemonster.com I use them for inspiration a lot. But as for tools, I use Dreamweaver because it is just plain faster than hand coding and the code itself is readable when viewed by other progams (like Editpad or notepad). It is also good enough for beginners too to learn with. But AJAX isnt a "plugin" or "program extension", although there are 3rd part apps that have basic Ajax extensions (which have already been mentioned).
