Is there an Automated Social Bookmarking tool?

    Hi All,

Does anyone know if a quick but ‘white hat’ software that allows you to submit your sites to different social bookmark sites? Like everyone else, I just want to save some time as opposed to spending absolutely ages. I’ve heard of a piece of software called BookmarkingDemon and wanted opinions on anybody who has used it. Are there any better tools preferably free out there?

Also, is it a good idea to use this tool? The last thing I want is for my sites to get banned.

    Really appreciate the help guys

I use BMD and it has given me great results till date. Do not go out putting your site across 1000 bookmarking sites at one go. Make sure you do not cross 100/day and be wary of the pligg and scuttle sites. Do not use them until you are sure of their identity. Another tool you could use is Onlywire.com plugin which puts your site across 40 top bookmarking sites for free. Hope that helps you

Just one thing yes BMD will help you , But its not at all WHITE HAT meaning you cannot say its white hat tool or something, there is no definition.
Yes social bookmarking is considered as WHITE HAT METHOD by search engines but it doesnt mean using a tool:)

Now coming to the point as mentioned by mechanix that dont cross 100 in a day as it will help to avoid spam from plig's point of view as well as search engine's point of view which i would like to add because most of them get indexed very fast in google serp's and spamming it might hit you google as i had seen once for these keywords social bookmakrs site were beating the original site it went down it serps as they were beaten by SB spam. so do it slowly spread across days / weeks

Thanks guys, thats a great help, will need to do some more research. I 'digged' one of my blogs lastnight and 10 hours later it was indexed in Google, talk about quick. In terms of traffic, for those of you who use SBing, does it bring a great deal of referrer traffic? Has it helped your rankings at all?

    Appreciate all the help.

Thanks for the reply. Is BMD the same as BookmarkingDemon? This was the tool I was referring to above and really needed some feedback on it.

Appreciate all the feedback. I want to be sure before I part with any money.

    Cheers

Thanks for that, I read a quite a lot of reviews but a lot of them seemed to be 'affiliate' based promotion so had to discard them. I like your review and am very tempted to buy it now. I noticed you said that you noticed traffic increases, however, is this stable traffic increases or just spikes? Also, since you wrote your review, have you noticed any major changes in rankings?

    Many thanks
    Zaheer

I would honestly refrain you from going from BMD unless you have a lot of affiliate sites which you need to promote in the short run.

    P.S :- BMD is bookmarkingdemon.

Well, I've avoided getting into the social bookmarking thing, even though I know it's suppossed to be good for seo, but after reading this thread, I decided to jump in.

Read up about onlywire.com and decided to try, bought the paid version since it was so cheap, but I don't think I needed to, it looks like submissions are free and the only difference is if you put their tool actually on your own site, which I don't think I'll do.

After signing up, you find you do have to sign up for each bookmarking site individually (I was hoping they had some type of system to make that easy). I've spent all morning signing up for sites, I'm about a two thirds done.

Then you enter the log in info for each site into onlywire and save it. The first thing they do it send their own site to all your bookmarks. Thanks a lot. Like announcing to the world what you doing. Maybe for paid members they should stop doing that.

After saving a bookmark, it tells you if the submission went through or not. About five haven't (and I'm only two/thirds done). I would think if this thing were kept up to date they would go through pretty reliably... but this is my first time so I will go through these and check that the logins and all are correct, but I'm pretty sure they are.

I'm undecided about the value of this so far, but I'll keep plugging away and see where it takes me and get back to you'all. It does remind me of submitting to 'free for all's like we did in the old days. Of course, all we got out of those were a ton of spam.

Bookmarking demon is the good one, but doing manually is the best way i thought.

    Cancelled my onlywire account.

It worked ok for submitting bookmarks.

But by just submitting I got no traffic. I just submitted a few times, my own sites, and was already getting a bad rep for not be a 'real' user of each of the bookmarking sites. Some complained that my posts were not right for their service, others that I was just promoting my own site (true!).

I think to truly promote and get traffic from these bookmarking sites you have to get involved, really become an active member and take the time to really contribute. That's as it should be, of course. But the auto-submitters like onlywire push the idea that you can just use them and get a ton of traffic with a simple submission click through their system. It just doesn't work that way (in my experience).

I use social submitter and I think it is great. Of course I had to sign up to all the sites but once you do, it's fast. 5 minutes max and you're done. I checked a couple of the pages I submitted and there are hundreds of results in google with dofollow links.

I wouldn't do this for PR as the pages your link is on are very low or no pr but the mass of links with your anchor is cool. It also lets you randomly change your anchor so you don't have duplicate content and your anchor text is different. I'm impressed with it so far.

I haven't seen alot of traffic from the submissions but there were a few visits to the pages I submitted the first day. Another plus is that some of the bookmark sites use "Tags" and each tag creates it's own page kinda like wordpress. So you may get 20-30 links from one bookmark service from each of the tag pages.

So, it's alot of work in the beginning but it's easy and fast in the end. Well worth the $150 I spent.

There are a few firefox add-ons that can help with social media sites, like Shareaholic. Foxy SEO Tool (link in sig) also offers some shortcuts. But you do have to register manually to them all once.
