I'm looking for a proxy solution. I'm currently using hide my ip software as proxy software to access Google.com and Yahoo.com in USA ip to check my sites ranking which is totally different from Google.com and Yahoo.com in my local. However, I found that proxy server using by this software is not updated its result real time. I know because I have compared by using some anonymous proxy server in web-based such as youhide.com or browser9.com. Both of them are USA ip based and see different results from my software. . It is more accurate because it show the same results as my friend in the USA see. I'm thinking about adapt web hosting to my proxy server to use as personal only. Is there a way to do this? Please help
Hi You can certainly do this with a VPS and squid, I do. It's possible to strip out all identifying information using the squid config file making your connection appear to originate in the country of your VPS. An unrelated tip - some TV sites in the US check what timezone your PC is in and refuse to play content if it's not set correctly. I think they use javascript for this so you can't block it at the proxy. Regards - Matt
