Is there a way to make content on DVD uncopyable?

How do I make it so lets say... if i put a video file on a dvd, people could only be allowed to watch it and not be allowed to copy it from the dvd to their hard drive?

    In short, it's almost impossible.

The music/DVD/game industry spends millions every year trying to make their goods uncopyable, yet you still see ripped copies of most things :(

The law prohibit reproduce the copyrighted DVD and videos contents.
It is already uncopyable from the view point of law .
Unfortunately there is no way to make the DVD content uncopyable from the viewpoint of technology.

I am sure, it is almost impossible to prevent your contents being copied but I know a method wherein you can make your DVD unplayable. Just scratch it on the floor. I learned it from my kids :p

the best way....... is to encrypt your data in the DVD

all copy protection methods are easily broken

    securom
    safedisc
    laserom

....... you name it...... they're all already defeated by those crackers

You might want to look into this:
     Adobe® Flash OwnerGuard
    http://www.armjisoft.com/?page=flashownerguard
    Code (markup):

Now you can use full features of OwnerGuard DRM Technology to protect and distribute your Flash SWF and FLV files while OwnerGuard protects your digital ownership rights.

With Flash OwnerGuard you can :

Lock your Flash SWF and FLV video files to specific computer(s).

Protect your Flash SWF and FLV video files from decompilation and illegal distributions.

Define High Security Expiration Dates or Working Times for your drm protected Flash SWF and FLV video files.

Use full features of Adobe Flash Player for your drm protected Flash SWF and FLV video files.

Control and apply all required limitations for your users using a very small user side DRM manager component ( OwnerGuard License Manager ) .

Minimize your users DRM hassles by letting them access your DRM protected Flash SWF, FLV files offline/online.

Distribute and Sell your Flash Files easily while you've got full control over them.

Sorry for the code box, but since this is my first post, no live links allowed. No, I'm NOT affiliated with this product.

At the end of the day it goes with the territory.

If you're selling software, it's going to be cracked, media files will be ripped and all of them will be shared illegaly.
There's really very little you can do to prevent this :(

In some respects you should think of it as a good thing, if nothing it's free publicity for you, and if people want your products enough to take the time to up/download them, you must be doing something right :)

What exactly are you trying to do?

Have you looked at the date of this thread? Or perhaps noticed that the OP has not been on DP since 2010? Resurrecting old threads like this serves no useful purpose, especially if you are offering the same comments/questions that were posed six years ago without response.
