through experience from summer sales, I know for a fact that a good sales opportunity is to be with someone at the spot, build value, and have them buy it at the spot. I think it is the same with stores and shopping malls. They definitely will see an increase in their sales if they succeed in bringing in people in the building. Lately people have been relying more and more on online shopping. Amazon and recently Alibaba have major impacts on how we shop. I'm trying to come up with an app or something that will motivate people to actually "GO" to places, not surf online. Any ideas?
Not really dude In my current experience, most visit retail now, and then price check online Some even buy via their online alternative before they have left the location! I think the secret is to make sure your business sows online for that product also With the rise of mobile use and geo targeting it shouldn't be too hard to make sure your site shows to that user in your vicinity At least then you have a 2nd chance of making the sale! Sadly a lot of people are getting the value, advice and experience of the retail assistant, and then going to the online location that doesnt need to cover those costs....it sucks, and eventually will bring the demise of most local stores Content marketing of that same information is the key Was listening to a podcast by content champion I forget the name of the episode now, but a store owner started creating conten based on the questions customers would ask each day Really random stuff you wouldnt think to write about Their traffic and sales are literally 500x what they were before, and the onsite content is actually having the effect of driving physical traffic to his store I couldnt agree more that its easier to close and sale and up sell in person Daniel
If it were my shop I would have a grand reopening with everything on sale. I would take lots of pictures of the store, merchandise and customers if they're okay with it. I'll then post all the pictures on Facebook and people everywhere would see how cool my shop is. If my shop is cool then people will actually GO there and shop regardless of price.
Most of the marketers always trying to find easy ways to reach their targeted users and that is online marketing due to the latest trend and user satisfaction compared to the typical activities such as destination trip, time of availability, and crowded places that will be giving you a hard time shop.
Totally disagree with that app idea,,why you want to motivate people no to go online,,,as a app developer you should do opposite make people to go online more, also busines who have physical stores they want people go online 1st and do shopping there,,,,bottom line you create a app,,,it use internet but you need people to use your app and go shopping psycle shopping malls,,so what happened to online business owners this is not really good idea to implement in my end,,,and i hope you create people to go online and motivate using apps like yours,,,,
hmm.. I see what you guys mean. well my idea is first they would spend a lot of time on the app, then with what they've earned on the app go to the actually store to claim their benefits. would that change anything?
I guess that is true. If you want people to come, I guess the short cut to that is to make it a place where people would want to come. Heck I would go anywhere if there is free Wi-Fi!
I guess you are right on many levels. I have many friends who run small businesses in the local community. this was an idea to kind of help them. I guess the world is designed to eat up the weak ones. Sad
