Is there a way to block my IP to protect from accidental clicks?

I have a gallery that requires several daily updates but I get nervous updating because I almost click on an ad quite often.

Is there a way I can block my IP address so that I don’t accidentally click on an ad?

    Thanks,
    Kimmy

I don't think there's a way but you could disable your ads from showing up by disabling java scripts.

    Thank You!

I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that and it completely solved my problem.

    Best wishes,

If your site is dynamic (PHP based for example), check the IP address yourself and then don't output the Google code when you are viewing the page yourself.

I do this on a few of my sites... well, more precisely, if it is I who is logged in then the ads don't show, just to make sure I don't kill the goose that will hopefully lay the golden egg.

i think you can do that using adlogger with just 1 click, also it helps you track clicks on your site.

You could use this little code, also:

    Or adlogger, like already mentioned.

It's hard when you're using DSL Internet which renew your IP everytime connected (Like AOL).

But If you've static IP you can block it by use PHP Script or use Adblock plugins on firefox.

Or add your firewall to block ads from pagead2.googlesyndication.com

I use Joomla and there is a clicksafe module where you can block IP addresses. However I am not sure what my IP address is? I use the local companies hi speed and isn't that generated dynamically?

I once, ONCE, accidentally clicked while I was trying to capture the URL for cutting and pasting into my browser window.

    Well, guess what?

Google DID NOT count it as a click.

    How 'bout that, eh?

i use the various clicksafe (modified or not) adsense modules for joomla.
the nice part about them is impressions aren't counted (though i guess they wouldn't be with js turned off either)

I use Kerio Personal Firewall which blocks all adsense by default.
If i want to see ads I will disable it but most of the time I keep ad blocking on :)
