is there a way to add "nofollow" to all external links?

    @linehand:

    Good, an authoritative link. It's late, and I haven't yet digested more than a small part of the comments. I'll accede to your juice share example. I'm not at all convinced (yet,anyway) that it negatively affects anyone but link targets. In the case of folks trying to massage their internal rank by funneling, I understand their pain, but as yet I see no problem where outbound links are concerned. That may or may not change with further reading. As this change in Google's methods has raised little dander, I suspect it's not all that important. Again, subject to further reading on my part.

    cheers,

    gary

    Nobody knows what "no follow' or "do follow" does, now with the changes, its all speculation. Anyone who implies they do should give us their direct line to google's test department, so their credentials can be verified. It's just terrible when people speculate about things that aren't even public knowledge.

    I think the way google sees things, its better for everyone if developers, and affiliates are left in the dark - that way they can determine what content is valid, and what is a bunch of sales fluff.

    Thanks everyone for the quick bits on "nofollow". I was always wondering how this tag will help me - whether it will help at all. Now that I understand it has little effect, I am not going to scratch my head in trying to use it on my sites. Thanks again...

    If you have wordpress blogs you can use "seo smart links" plugin. It is great plugin and let you do internal linking also.

    As more and more people use "NO FOLOW" google will relay on them less and less.

    In the end google's core functionality breaks down it every page is a no follow. Then no pages on the internet would talk about each other because they would be afraid of leakage!
