I am a newbie and would like to know how I can strategically insert keywords into an article. I will appreciate any guidance.
For an article a good onpage structure in my opinion would be. (Assuming you have your h1 tag used for your main keyword) Start your article title on H2 with your keyword in place. The first, middle and the last few lines of your paragraph is better with your keyword in place. Use internal linking structure and formatted text on your content. A keyword density between 2 - 4% is good. Hope that helps
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I am really a newbie so I do not know what h1 or H2 tag is. I am looking for something I can start to learn.
Is the article one that is being submitted to an article directory like Ezine, or is it content on your site? The h1 and h2 tags only would come into play if it is content on your website. Then the question would be, "What are you using to create your site?". This would determine the simplest way to advise you on how to setup your h1 and h2 tags. If it is an article for submission then my advice is; KW in the title, in the opening paragraph, in the closing paragraph, and perhaps once or twice in between depending on the length. Ezine has a limit on the number of times it can occur, I think it is around 2%.
It will initially be an article for submission to an article directory. Regarding an article for my website, what do you mean by am I using to create my site? I use Komposer. Is that what you mean?
If you're submitting it to an article directory don't worry about optimizing it as much, they have numerous junk on the page as well. For ezinearticles you need to be at less then 2% keyword density or you'll be automatically rejected and won't even reach the reviewer. Also for your own website I'd use a higher keyword density. I'd recommend using the Firefox browser with the Quirk SearchStaus addon (right click on the bottom menu icon) As for the h1, h2 and h3 tags using Kompozer just highlight the test and click on the drop down "Body Text". Another tip is to select "Format", and "Page Title and Proerties" and enter your page info. If it's a small site Kompzer will do, but if you plan to build a large site I'd recommend you go with Wordpress instead.
Yes i use http://www.zemanta.com/ it automatically grabs keywords and pictures and can insert them if u choose

You should always keep your keyword density less then 2% as Google seems to like that and don't think your keyword stuffing.
Checkout some h1, h2, etc. tags here: http://hubpages.com/hub/howto-loseweight-quickly It's the large text (headlines, sub headlines). Right click on the page away from an image and "View Page Source" or "View Source" and do a Edit/Find and type in h1, h2, etc.
I think in making you article, if you want to insert keywords on it, you should be able to insert atleast 2 to 3 keywords on it. SEO copywriting is also a method of making it work for you.
