I'm looking for a way to make a site similar to istock, where users join via membership and download a multitude of files per month. The problem is, I'm wondering whats the best way to go about it? I thought about using DAP, and making pages on wordpress, but I find that could be hectic, and not really suit my needs (I would like something I could track how many downloads a file is getting), and restrict certain files to certain membership levels. Anyone could chime in, and tell me what CMS or way I need to go? Thanks!

That one is close. I was trying to see if there's a plugin or way to build it where I only have access to upload all the files in the marketplace (not others, just a buyers market), and different membership levels allow you to download different types of files. For example: Membership A: Can download ebooks only Membership B: Can download ebooks and audiobooks. Membership C: Can download ebooks, audiobooks, and video of book. Along with a way to follow up with them in a autoresponder throughout the membership, and track downloads from a certain file, prices, etc. I like the way dap and some other membership plugins work, but on the side of tracking downloads, files, etc, it can be a pain. Is wordpress the best way to go, or would suggest another platform, plugins, theme, etc?
This would likely tackle part of that issue. https://easydigitaldownloads.com/downloads/lock-downloads-to-ip/ as for the tiers I would have to think that over. I think my colleague has that theme so I can test a few things but I am likely gone for the day. I had a long day. Short answer would be something like this https://codecanyon.net/item/wp-membership/10066554 or http://wp-member.com/ I am not entirely sure if it will cooperate together but it frankly should. The email bit should be fairly trivial. Nigel
Do With Drupal,Although There is no ready made modules for this but using different modules and with Drupal Views Module you can achieve what you wants.
Is dap still a good option to use with easy downloads? or is there a better way with optimizepress? @Nigel did you find anything out? Thanks.
I am just wrapping stuff up for the day. I will try to knock this up real fast so I can advise you accordingly. N.
