It kind of hurts to totally walkway from the revenue that link sales can bring. Is it possible to sell links as simple banners (particularly of course for related site)? I guess what I am saying is it's hard for me to understand why link sales are prohibited but banners seem to be fine? So then why not sell simple one line banners instead of text links? I am probably being totally naive but I thought I would ask. Thanks for reading!
you can sell banner ads if your website is having a good traffic with the NO FOLLOW link in the website as it is allowed as the same stratergy is used by google NO FOLLOW Link
Well, just put a text identifying those as "sponsored links" or attaching the nofollow tags to the link.
Google are only really concerned about sites selling links for PR. Make them no follow and you will be fine. However, people looking to buy often want the PR d
The reason link sales are prohibited (unless nofollow) rather than banners is because of the anchor text in the html of a link text. Quality incoming links with the appropriate anchor text is the crucial aspect of a successful SEO campaign. You can get away with selling link texts but make sure you disguise them well - not hiding them, just camouflaging them within the rest of the page. Basically, make sure they are not obvious to the human eye. The worse place to put them is in the footer. (Any risk is yours to make though)
Just labeling them as sponsored links is not enough. Google would still want you to use the nofollow attribute, which would scare away most link buyers. One way to get around this problem is to integrate the paid links into your website content. If you have other text around each link, it is tough to tell that they are paid links. Blog post website reviews are a great example of this. Selling banner ads instead should be fine, but I don't know how many people would but this type of link.
I m agree with Divisive Cottonwood. If you buy a text link that means you want to increase your site's SERP with target keywords, on the other hand if you are buying banner that means it's not much beneficial according to the Search Engine point of view while you can drive traffic on your site with banner ads.
Good luck selling links with nofollow and "sponsored" above them, you'll struggle to find buyers. Any you do find will want to (quite rightly) pay less. If you want to sell links, sell them to related sites and make them in content, this way nobody can say you took money for it, it could easily have been a natural link.
