I've been thinking of an idea for a while. Well obviously I can't reveal it yet but before I do I want to see whether there is a need for it. This new idea beats some negative points of adsense, such as it's "ugly" look, since you could edit it to make it look like your website. It also takes up a very small space regardless of how many advertisers you have. Only problem is, it is not pay per click, so it is slightly harder to make money off it. However I think the fact that it you can easily make it look like your website and the fact that it takes up an 80 x 80 pixel space will mean that webmasters won't mind keeping it on their site. So you can have it on your website aswell as adsense. Also it creates a solution for those webmasters who don't use adsense because they think it ruins the look of their website. Do you think I should give it a go and make it? Will webmasters be willing to try it out or will they be too taken away by adsense to give it a go? Also, I am thinking of charging 10% of revenue made by webmasters through this system as a form of revenue for myself, is this too much or too little? How much do google take from each click on a pay per click ad? Thanks
I suspect that many webmasters will try anything, at least once. The real question is whether the advertisers will go for it. They are the source of $$ that you have to be concerned with. Ask yourself what the reason for adsense's "ugly" look is. Could it be that people who know they are clicking on an ad are more likely to be profitable visitors to the advertiser's web site? I know that if I click on a link that I think is part of a web site, but is actually an ad on a different website, I am annoyed.
