I would like to know if there is a mechanism to stop Abusive Language in the Forums ?

I recieved a Red Rep for a comment in the Politics and Religion Forum with a abusive language !!

Not against the red rep ( though its sad always to get one ) but the foul words used along with the rep - i am sure thats offensive enough.

Is there a way to report it or stop such things ?

Let DP remain a clean, educative and enjoyable place !!

There is no need to be abusive in PM or any other format. It is sad that people have to do this. That said, ther is a difference between speaking your mind, and being abusive, although ften people get these confused!

There is no such provision right now for this.

I, keep myself out from P&R.

I may go and read some of the postings in the p/r forums, but I stay away from posting there.

Seems to me, the lowest class of people on this forum hang out there.
Hope they always stay there.

P&R is full of n00bs. You cant even imagine a serious discussion there. because even if there is some serious discussion going on, some n00b (Who will join the forum just for the sake of posting in that thread, and I still have to figure out where they come from...) would jump in and ruin the whole discussion.
Additionally there are some people who love to spread the "red hate" decorated with abusive language..

Word; truth right there. I have to say that applies to the General Chat forum as a whole, though..

I guess Red Rep is a free float in the P & R forums - they just about stick to everyone posting there.

Thanks for the advise - i will try to stay away from those parts of DP.

Just sad that i lost some Green Reps i collected by helping a lot of people around.

Hope those come back pretty fast.

This is the best mechanism that anyone can implement.I do exactly the same, just landing there when I have something really silly to add into their discussions, just for fun :D

Anyone remember a chat forum "Habbo Hotel"? They replaced all foul language or indecent words with "bobba". It was the funniest thing I had seen for while!

Maybe DP could implement this? :D

Hey that could be a great solution: word substitution.

I never hear about "Habbo Hotel" but a friend of mine was running a forum in which discussions about hackers were not allowed, hence the word "hackers" was substituted by "packers" throught IPB, "f@#er" with "tucker", "hell" with "hilll", "damn" with "glam" and things like that.

So everytime you could read that the "packers should be sent to the hill because they were a glam tuckers" and other funny saying made up with word substitution :D
