Google is always updating, so the answer would be: yes

I think the latest update that google have made is the google 'Panda Update'. And I think you have notice it in google UK just recently. Google is making some improvement to its search results.

Google probably have a team which work around the clock to improve their search service and make improvements to their algorithms / search engine results, so I'd say yes.

Google keeps on changing its so called "SECRET" algorithm so, probably the answer to your question is YES.

Yes, I too have seen more static serps for many websites. It seems very odd as many websites are changing, seeing new backlinks, adding new content, and yet static serps.

One possibility is G could be varying the frequency of serp changes to make it harder for seo guys to see the effects of thier work.
Another possibility is the G is preparing for a more substantial algo change.
And there may be yet other reasons.

But one thing for sure, G in UK is more static in recent weeks.

    I’ve also noticed this.

I created 17 contextual, PR4+ back links for one of my sites a couple of weeks ago & that site has not even moved 1 position. I have also applied back linking to some of my other sites which have had no affect what so ever.

I had a site which was sitting in the #2 spot on first page of Google & my competitor which is stronger than be has suddenly fell back around 5 pages. This is very strange as the competitor has almost 600 back links, most of which are good quality & I only have 80.

Something definitely going on, I’m just hoping I don’t get hit by it.

This is why Google is owning all of you. You have lost control over your life.

Let the next update comes when it's time and get your site ready for it, instead of being concerned on what a search engine does or does not.
