dasBlog seems to be one of the preferred .NET blog solutions out there. Quite honestly, compared to WordPress or any of the other PHP-based solutions, dasBlog is very disappointing - at least from an SEO perspective. I have blogs/sites running on both and I had to make alot of modifications to the dasBlog code to put very basic SEO rules in place (like, meta tags or duplicate content fixes). With WP (and others), it's just a matter of installing a plug-in or two. I would also say that the level of support and tools available for the PHP-based open source blog platforms is unbeatable. My .02.
For technical dudes, it's easy to get caught up in methodology. For better or worse, the layman doesn't care about the kind of studs in their house, the amount of oxygen in the electric wires in their car, or the amount of Vitamin B in their cereal. The same goes for a blog platform. I'd shift my focus on pleasing / serving my visitors if that's your ultimate goal. Improve my life somehow and I'll send you a link. Just a thought. Brandon
