Is the Yahoo Publishers Network accepting smaller publishers yet?

    I mean publishers without any visits to their websites yet. I don't want to sign up and just be rejected. And when do they expect to be out of Beta, if anyone knows?

    You shouldn't let traffic keep you from applying. First, Yahoo has no way of knowing if what you tell them is your actual traffic - but they base their decision on the actual site, not traffic. I have a friend who was accepted with a brand new site that had no traffic at all. While the site had no traffic, it was professionally done and informative.

    Just make sure that you live in the US, your site is targeted toward US visitors, and that you do not have a large percentage of International visitors. Yahoo approves new publishers in batches (on the same day) so it can take days or 4 weeks to hear from them depending on when your application hits the cycle.

    Yahoo is still working out a lot of bugs with the beta. They are scheduled to come out of beta in the second half of 2006 but there is no exact date.

    I was accepted with a site that was online for 1 week and had zero traffic. It was my photography site and at the time I hadn't even fully developed it yet. I suppose you could say I was lucky, but like mjewel said, don't let it discourage you. If you have a great site, don't be afraid to submit it. :cool:

    Nor, your "Resources" link in your photo site's menu doesn't seem to be working. Just thought I'd let you know. And thanks. :)

    I don't think it's traffic that determines whether your website gets approved or not.

    I applied and got approved.

    Here's the reply from Yahoo:
    ======================================================
    Dear Darren,

    Thank you for applying to participate in the Yahoo! Publisher Network beta program. We're excited to let you know that your application has been accepted and you can now proceed with creating your account using the link below:

    https://publisher.yahoo.com/signup/?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    This link is your unique access key. It is non-transferable and may be used to create one account only. (Please note that during the beta period, Yahoo! is only able to serve or accept U.S.-based publishers with a valid Social Security or Tax ID number, and with web site content that is predominantly in English and targeted at a U.S. user base.)
    ========================================================

    The problem is, I'm not a U.S citizen.
    Haha! :p

    I looked at your sites and they are very nice sites. I didnt see any yahoo ads on them though. Only Google.

    Is it because Yahoo's targeting isnt the best in the world yet ?? I have waited almost 2 months and none of the ads that hit my site seem the be content related....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    Hey thanks for checking them out.

    And yes you are correct, Yahoo was not displaying any relevant content on my photography site so I decided to kank them until they worked out the issues with that. Hope things work out for you! :cool:

    This is most likely due to the fact their advetiser base is not large enough yet. I noticed in some of my keyword categories that they only a small handfull of them and of course this makes it hard to get consistent ads. I too hope they get that portion of it fixed as well.

    I have a low traffic site and I was accepted. I don't even show yahoo ads all over the place - just in areas where YPN performs better than Google.

    It takes them awhile to get back to you from my experience. Make sure you write down which email you used as your contact, it took about 6 weeks for me to be accepted, and that was my third application, they never did respond to the other two, however, I bet you could call them and get signed up over the phone if you talked like it was no big deal and wanted to compare them to Adsense ;)

    Yahoo I believe doesn't but Mediashaker.com will take some medium size to smaller sites.....although the income will not be as high in some locations they monetize traffic from every country.
