Is the user reputation system accurate/fair?

I tried but it told me I had to spread my rep around. So obviously I've rep you before and it won't let add more yet?????

 

Out of interest how many rep points do you need to move to two squares and then three? Not that I expect ever to achieve those heady heights. I'm sure there are some members who would red rep my avatar and signature if I posted empty pages.

 

After 100 you have 2 and then it increases by 1 everytime 50 points are added.

The rep thing is stupid overall IMO. Mostly because its abused. As an example, Ive gotton negative rep twice today for this thread where im asking people to review their web host in a new section on one of my sites. Both times were by people who dont have the balls to leave their name. Its a way for cowards to get under your skin, not much more. Its a mechanism thats mostly used for losers to think they are somebody by playing childish games IMO.

Now, maybe if their name was required AND the neg rep was posted and by whom for all to see - some of that would go away. But ultimately, with people giving away positive and negative rep with no accountability, the whole rep thing is meaningless IMO.

 

Yes that is indeed a double insult. That memeber really knows how to hit below the belt so to speak. Did s/he sign the red rep?

 

No. Of course not babe. The wierd thing is, If they did red rep me and leave their name, I would not hate that person or whatever, or get revenge by red repping them back..I would just respect them and take their cristism with seriousness instead of just thinking 'what a sad fucking loser'

No Mella, it illustrated a point. It is a trifling thing, but it did upset you. That was the point that I wished to illustrate to you, ysf1 and others. Everyone who is blustering on about how the system is fine and no one should worry about it and yadda yadda yadda are not perceiving the big picture, IMO.

 

I ain't upset. If I was - I would give you a red back and it would probably sting a lot worse than your measely -1 point you gave me, sweetie.

Fair enough it illustrated a point. But I meant if people have constructive critisism They should leave their name, not just the immature red repping crap that goes on. ie; 3..2..1..testing.
