In my current AdWords campaign I created a master landing page template, and then created a variation of this template for each AdGroup. So each AdGroup has a landing page that has been customized for that particular keyword. So each landing page is directly relevant to the AdGroup. But all the landing pages are very similar - same layout, graphics, and most of the same text. My question - is the fact that each landing page is very similar to other landing pages potentially hurting my quality scores? Any insights are appreciated. George
QS is meant to measure how relevant the ad is to the user. If the content of the site is relevant, it shouldn't effect your QS. However, I think "duplicate content" is more of an SEO question than an SEM one. Googles DOES penalize websites by lowering their page ranking if there is too much duplicate content.
Good to know. My QS seems to be creeping up extremely slowly, so I wanted to make sure Google was not comparing landing pages from the same campaign on the basis of unique content. That's interesting about the SEO angle. I'm using unbounce.com to create my landing pages, using a CNAME redirect to associate them with my domain. They are not included in my websites sitemap, and they cannot be navigated to from my website. I wonder how much they influence the site? Something to explore further on an SEO forum. Thanks for the quick reply. George
unique content and design IS a factor in adwords but that's only applies if more than 1 person is promoting a product with similer layout and content (Happans all the time in Affiliate market, Vendors gives you landing pages and everyone jumps onboard to promote it). if its only on your site, nothing to worry about..
