Is the ship going to continue sailing or sink ?

One thing I have noticed lately, or more and more, is folks earning less and less, it's not just me anymore, seems with 'smart pricing' and other things going on, is everyones earnings per clicks etc dropping more and more over time ? Maybe when yahoo decides to launch full bore, few will stay with adsense.

I hate to see what it will be like 6 months or a year from now, the way it's going, we will all need 50 sites or more, since 1 cent and 3 cent clicks seem to happen more and more. Am I the only one thinking we might have to jump over the rail, or do you all plan on staying with the ship ?

There are just as many people earning more as there are earning less. People who are earning less tend to be the ones who talk about what they are earning so it's easy for public perception to get skewed:)

I don't have enough experience with Adsense to say. However if ppc prices do really start falling I will simply go back to doing ppc/affiliate rather than content/adsense.

With the pace of the web, I think we need to diversify and be ready to change what we are doing very quickly.

On some of my sites the CPC is going up, on a few it is going down. Overall for me at least it is on the increase

I just find my EPC to be all over the place. The high days can be 2x to 3x the low days. I have a pretty steady CTR and Impressions.

My adsense revenue is up but I won't talk about it.

In the long term, advertising always goes up. We are in the post internet bubble steady growth that every boom has seen. After the railroad boom was over only 10% of the raillines in the US and England had been built. Same goes with telephones, steam, electricity, and about 7 other booms. The internet will continue to grow and advertising will shift from TV and other older channels.

Keep building quality sites and testing ways to optimize your income.

Adsense Fever. Everyone wants a piece because they've been told it's easy. As a result, there's less pie to spread around. And I foresee it getting worst because more and more people are coming into the scene everyday. Just look at how many newbies sign up here per day to ask a) What site they should build to make Adsense money; 2) Why doesn't their crappy made-for-Adsense site/mesotholemia blog make any money.

It'll get better once the fly-by-nighters realize it ain't that easy and go back to pyramid schemes. I hope.

Yeah fortunately they all seem to be attracted to the same pile of crumbs.

I've been with the program for about a year now, and have been here on this forum since May or before, maybe march. I ve tweaked and tweaked, and continue working on my sites. It just seems no matter what we do something always come along and wipes the effort out, LOL

I had my site(s) on the net since 2001. I tried adsense since Nov 2004,
Up to May I was doing better each month, then I got sandboxed, lol
Lost half or more of my traffic and a lot of my earnings.

Then I tried the add images above the adsense, boom along comes this adsense optimization thing that now has only 2 ads or less showing at times, my earnings drop more.

I worked hard since getting sandboxed getting more search engine traffic from other engines, and increased it a lot, then Sep 1 hits, boom 'smart pricing' effect, and all of my ad click values plummet. Medical terms earn 30 cents on a good day, Credit Card terms earn 25 cents on a good day, my software site(s) plummet to an average of 1 cent -3 cents a click. Actual amounts not disclosed by Major Domo, to guard against TOS violation, oh well does one really care abut losing a $4.00 a day money source, LOL

I am now back to Jan stats or lower again, it makes one laugh.... Still adsense is better than nothing.
