Their is no doubt in my mind or anyone whom tried making a dollar off the internet through a new site. If their wasn't something going on, would their even be a discussion of the possibility of such an event?

It's real. I had it happen to one of my sites awhile ago. I never really understood what caused it, but after research I found it was the Sandbox effect.

oh it is real alright... the suckiest of all is that now its not easy to bypass it by 301'ing an old unsandboxed domain to new - what worked 2 years ago works sporadically now. nothign is worse than losing your old domain's age, link pop, repute, hilltop etc and NOT transfering it all to a new domain through a 301. and this is what's happening these days more and more often!

It's real...often new sites show high in the SERP's to start, then "poof"...they disapear from the SERP's for a month or so...this is the sandbox. Why Google does this? Only they know for sure.

So 301'ing doesn't work so well any more. That's too bad... but I'll still ask: what's a 301?

Yes it's most definitely real. Ive managed to avoid the "sandbox", "filter", "ageing delay" or whatever you want to call it on only two sites and that was because I was going after low competition, low search volume phrases. Ranked well from the start for lots of low volume phrases and continues to.

If you go after anything competitive you can be sandboxed very easily.

Not sure how anyone can possibly say it isn't real.

Sites do not appear in results for a variety of reason. On goolge website the reading tends one to believe the sandbox is real. To get out of the box try doing link exchanging.

I think Sandbox is a generic term for "oops my webpage has disappeared or suddenly gone low in the rankings"

I think that Sandbox is real and right now I am afraid that one of my best websites might have been sandboxed. My traffic has dropped in 2 days from 7'000 daily visitors to 900 ... I hope it was because of some server issues I've been having, but it might as well be the sandbox ...

I don't believe in the sandbox as I have started up about 7 new sites before, and all of them have gaines pr and some basic positions within the first 3 months. Either it is a myth or if you work it right you get out quickly, or I am magic! ha ha.

I dont think that it is real as in making you wait 6 - 12 months to get out of it.
