Hello sorry for my english first Is the Rewriting illegally ? and google can penalize me for duplicate content ? for example this article http://ezinearticles.com/?Things-That-You-Should-Know-About-Hostgator-Web-Hosting-Service-Before-You-Start-Having-One&id=5402788 Code (markup): the part 2 of the article is: If you are serious about creating a website to market your products, you should find a suitable web hosting service to start up and maintain your site. The use of web hosts is without doubt one of the easiest way not only to create web sites, but also to maintain them. For those that are not familiar with how these services work, they are generally Internet hosting services that allow people to start a website and make the site visible to the rest of the world wide web. Space would be provided on a server that is owned by the host to be used by the customers. and i rewrite it to be: If you're seriously interested in making a website to promote your products and solutions, you need to get a perfect web hosting provider to begin and maintain your website. The usage of web hosts is undoubtedly one of the best method not just to make websites, but to maintain them. For those that aren't experienced with the way these services work, they're just generally Internet webhosting services which make it possible for websites administrators to begin with an online website and help make the website accessible into the rest of the internet. Web hosting space would be offered on a hosting sever which is run by the web host for being utilized by the websites administrators. Is this illegally or not ? and google can penalize me for duplicate content ? although the ALL article is changed. and what about changed the article in the top^ you see it unique or not ? and this is danger for my AdSense account ??? Thanks
Grabbing some one else's article from ezine and rewriting it is sneaky. Buy cheap PLR articles and rewrite them. For best results rewrite the whole sentence in your words, vary number of sentences and even paragraphs if possible. -Neo
Nobody knows for certain, but if bets were placed, I'd bet that it would pass. Look at all of the sales material out there online on one particular product or service. Doesn't much of it say basically the same thing. Look at that first sentence. I have lost count the number of times I have read and heard something similar to that. Someone can read the first example on some website tonight, and then read the second example on another site a week later and not even remember the first one he read earlier. Heh, sometimes "information overload" is good. Go ahead and run with it. If it doesn't get indexed, it ain't no biggie (though I think it will). If it does, well, there ya go.
okay thanks all for your great help i have another question this is danger for my AdSense account ??? thanks
To the best of my knowledge rewriting is not illegal. It is just not very nice and generally frowned upon. This being said, Google doesn't seem to care as long as an article is at least 40% unique and Adsense cares even less
Rewriting in general is not illegal but rewriting like the example most certainly is because the original piece is entirely recognizable. Just because it's unlikely the perpetrator would ever be caught doesn't mean that it's an OK practice. The example would be classified as a derivative work, period, end of story.
No its not illegal but it is always better to just take an idea from an article and write your own.. That works well..
From the United States Copyright.gov site... Damn folks, do you homework before you shoot off your mouth.
there's no hard and fast rule, it would be on a case by case basis. And it's *very* unlikely anyone would sue you for 'repurposing' something as trivial as an article, especially when nowadays, the original author probably 'repurposed' bits of it himself. Of more relevance is 'how much does something have to be changed to fool a search engine'?
The original question was is this legal, not will I get caught. It's like saying it's OK to rob a liquor store as long as you don't get caught. I don't recall the artist's name but I remember there was a fellow who worked closely with a lawyer and was making a right tidy little sum suing folks for infringement. And, from everything I've read, you certainly don't want to get into a tangle with the folks at Getty Images. Yeah, those are images and not the written word but the laws are virtually identical. Case by case here simply means whether or not the original author discovers the theft and whether or not they want to pursue things. Most hosts will respond to a valid DMCA complaint quickly. Some will just remove the individual page, others remove the entire site - most hosts do not want to assume the liability for the infringement and err on the side of the victim rather than the thief. Why work on building a site if someone can have it taken down completely because you took shortcuts? Do also keep in mind who is participating in this thread. I'm a writer and have done a great deal of research on copyright due to a vintage images site I own. I believe in honoring copyrights and do not support theft simply because it often remains undiscovered and unprosecuted. Contentboss, on the other hand, sells a product that makes it easier to take something already written and "spin" out a modified copy. I'm not accusing Contentboss of flagrant copyright theft but the product he sells is most certainly used by some of his customers to rewrite/spin the work of others without permission - a use that he apparently sees as acceptable practice.
Yeah, I mispoke when I said "go ahead and run with it." I'd be the first to say, "just rewrite it yourself!" It is not that hard to rewrite an article to make it more interesting, more helpful. Hell it would take them less than an hour to do this, while at the same time it will be a better article. The readers will like the article better, thus getting a better conversion rate. Besides, spinners can only spin a typical 300-500 word article once anyway. Any more than that and the article will look as if it was written by... well, by some of the dumbasses here who post.
