Is the resale content model dead?

I've been reading a few comments here on DP like "over saturated market", "ebooks have no value", etc. etc.

Is this really the case, has the resale website/content model been flogged to death? Or is there still a huge untapped market?

Personally I believe the latter, but if it is dead then what is the latest internet entrepreneurial gold?

Your thoughts please, come on guys & gals show off your expertise...

Is it dead? Not really. You see that people are making SOME money off of it. It's only dead if no money is being made off of an idea.

Do I think you could still make a fortune this way? No. It's been done to the point that if somebody who has ANY knowledge sees it, they will think it's a product not worth having.

Have I sold these before? Yeah. But now I would MUCH rather focus on giving my buyers quality material, that's why I never sell other people's products, just my own. I know what's in it and can sell it much better for a much higher price.

Oh, and eBooks are still alive and kicking. If you make your own, you can still make a killing.

    It will never be saturated.

Look at all the books in bookstores that are still selling?

It's all about how you wrap your package and then deliver it to potential customers.

A quality ebook on a hot topic that's priced right still sells.

There are an abundance of rebrandable ebooks that are being promoted to death. Don't rebrand, write your own or hire someone to write it for you.

With regards to the older ebooks being passed around in 5000 pack bundles, yes, it's dead. However, with regards to new quality ebooks coming out every day, no, it's not dead.

    That's my take on it.

Are you meaning promoting as an affilaite or reselling PLR and MRR ? I think both are goldmines if done right...

Yes and No ... The IM field is pretty saturated. We have a lot of internet marketers recruiting and selling to potential internet marketers. ....

Specific Niches, for example, are a whole nother story... I have a client selling Autocad info online that makes more in a day that I was making in a month.

And that kind of make sense ... People write about and sell what they know, and so people who know IM write and sell IM ... so it's getting satruated because they are teaching more people about IM ...

Now, the next "gold" will be when someone actually learns all the stuff that's being promoted in all thes ebooks and actually USES them in another niche.

Just one SEO trick that I tauight him got my client from "Not On Google" to page three in about three days.

He is an expert in his niche. I know IM, Programming, etc. I'm making his life easier and more profitable and I'm his new best friend.

I think the Next "Gold" is JVing with people who don't know IM and have an underexploited niche.

I'm working on a piece of software to automate that by the way ... should sell well in the IM communiyt ;)

Some really superb insights here, thanks for the responses. I'm relatively new to IM, having gotten tired of being an eBay seller and I'm looking for a good angle. JVing sounds like a good route. Also I would say that producing new material is getting a real thumbs up, although is it acceptable to basically plagiaries & rewrite existing copy?

For both resell rights & private label rights content, the real key is to create a unique selling point for your products. You can do this by creating unique sales pages and graphics (especially for PLR content) - if it looks like your products are the only ones around, it creates a greater perceived value in the mind of your clients. End result, you can sell more at a higher price.

The ebooks/content market is a segment of the information niche - that's one thing that will never die, you just need to know how to play it.
