Is the PR update finished? Or is google still updating?

Just curious because I have 9 Tier 2 pages, with a PR of 4, and my homepage and all other Tier 2 pages, have a PR of 3. Now I must admit, the pages I made are very "spammy" Long repeats of the keyword, and I put my keyword into the URL twice on each, and they all rank high on MSN for their respective keyword. Could that be the reason they have a higher PR? It has me confused, I made these pages when I was first learning about SEO'ing, and now im tempted to take them off (although that will take away the 70-100 uniques i get per day from these pages!)

    Any advice?

Thanks a lot, these forums have much information.
    Mike.

It appears Google decided to dance some more. Who knows what this means? Just part of the Google mystique.

From your post it sounds like you made the PR 4 pages earlier than the PR 3´s? Could that be why they are doing better, maybe? They´ve simply been around longer.

Or are you saying that it is the PR3´s that you made first?

I made the PR3's first, My site has been around since middle of december ->january, I made the pages that have PR4's all on the same night, and the only page linking to them is my homepage (which is a PR3) and that was about middle of feb. I made them (like feb 20th I would say) so all of my PR3 pages have been around a good month and a half to 2 months longer.

So thats what really has me confused hehe, the only pages linking to my PR4 pages, is my PR3 homepage. Which has me thinking google is not done updating, and my homepage might really be a PR4 or PR5? Or google might just be ranking those pages wrong and they will drop PR soon.

PR has nothing to do with your content- (unless it gets are banned). PR is determined soley by links to your page.

All of the google data centers still haven't updated. It is also possible you have more links pointing to interior pages.

In January, it took several days for it to settle in. It wouldn't surprise me if this one was similar. However, Google does seem to love to surprise people who watch this stuff so closely. ;)

    That is incorrect.

I can show you a PR1 site with no backlinks in ANY search engine if you wish.

    a few points.

One, google does not show all backlinks, and only updates what it does show on occasion.

Two: It does not show as having a lot of backlinks, but according to marketleap, google is showing one, yahoo is showing 13 and MSN is showing 15

Not to mention that it will now have another one because you posted it here :)

In response to the question in the original post, as late as this afternoon, there was still some movement showing, up and down, on some of the datacenters for some of the sites I monitor.

An oddity: a forum which increased from PR4 to PR5, was showing PR5 across all datacenters except the toolbarquerie one, which dropped to 2 (previously 4) for a few hours -- curiously, even though it was showing as 2 for a while, during that time the actual toolbar PR was showing as 5. I have no idea what this means or what was going on...

    I agree
    * PR is not only avlued by links alone anymore...
    * some DCs still don't have the final values,
but I don't think the PR values will be recalculated again now...
(too bad.... have several PR6=>0 and PR7=>0 drop!)

    Kewler,

That is a real bummer. Do you have any idea why they dropped like that?

    @e10

    I have checked some data...
diff. Class/C IPs, diff. content, diff. inbound links

the only thing they have in common> they all place DP COOP ads :-(((

could that be the reason? After all they are so easy to detect ....

    216.239.53.99 5

    it's not over yet...

    same for the PR7 :)
