Live always comes next to Google & yahoo ! There is nothing like optimizing your site for Live. If you top google & yahoo you will rank in live !Live's search algorithm is not as intelligent as Google ! But things may change in future !

I disagree with stevejeff. Just because you rank well in Google and Yahoo, it does not necessarily mean that you should also have good rankings on MSN. All three of those search engines are looking for slightly different things. Surprisingly, msn is often the toughest search engine to get rankings on. It seems they put more emphasis on link quantity and certain onpage factors.

I don't expect MSN to catch up to Google or even Yahoo anytime soon. Their big gameplan is to launch a new O/S with MSN Live as the default search engine. With so many complaints about Vista, how many people are actually going to bother upgrading to an O/S that will likely have many similar flaws? Too many of those people will still switch their default search engine to Google. For MSN to make any kind of move on Yahoo and Google, it would require some major partnerships or acquisitions.

Yeah, Live is probably going to get a little bit more popular in the future, but I don't see it taking over Google anytime soon. I do know they're trying to promote it pretty heavily - I remember they were doing a rewards program for people using their search engine not too long ago.

And vamsterdam is 100% correct - all of the search engines are using different algorithms so ranking well in one doesn't guarantee ranking well in the others.
