I just launched a new site and want to use my small advertising budget wisely. The press release we have is newsworthy but I'm not quiet sure if it makes sense to pay the extra 160$ for associated press distribution. Can anyone share their experience about the SEO and the Media Visiblity service?
Ive only used a paid service to PRweb once with a friends site. I thought it was great to see the site mentioned in Google News but it didnt bring a high volume of visitors. For AP distro you'll probably hit the Offline media too and while this might be great , I think it depends on what kind of site you have. If you're selling something , then driving people to the site from sites picking up news off the wire , youll do well to grab their attention with the press release itself and an uphill struggle to get them to visit the site.( Im sure there are stats out there on this break down) Have a look at other sites that PRweb has pushed , i think you can find out those who have paid extra for more visibility. Do a study on these from release to week 1 and see what the search engines are reacting to ( Do they get lots of back links , are they mentioned on Digg etc etc) Summary - Save the $$$ if you can afford it. Remember "If you build it they will come!" Im no Guru - Just my 2 cents. Best of Luck Buddy!
