Is the Make Money Online Niche Truly Saturated?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by Augra, Dec 6, 2008.

I've seen opinions out there that claim the Make Money Online Niche is way too saturated; therefore, it's not recommended for newbies to start off in this topic. You are also told to follow a niche that you are passionate about. What if you are passionate about making money online? Are you in a catch 22?

What would you advise a newbie on this matter?

you got to look at it like sports at least that's how I bring evrything to my iunderstanding

is Basketball oversaturated? Is Surfing oversaturated? Futbol? Football?

you got to first think that you can go pro then work and practice to become better than the rest. The reason the best make it to the pros is they practice and believe in themselves and have dream then they work towards it for years.

So find out if your better then the rest I know I am

If you CAN and DO make money online, then you're likely to have something original and relevant to say, so it may be worth a go.
If you're just going to repeat what all the other sites say, then you could be wasting your time.

It's over marketed. There way better niches to compete in.

It will take way too much effort in this niche compared to others.

This forum is NOT a good reflection BTW if this niche is good or not. This forum more or lss caters to this niche.

You see it all the time. Most people new to online marketing gravitate to that niche. So I guess there will always be a supply.

But IMHO there are much better niches to explore.

No. Well, it is saturated with hype and incompetence - but
if you learn how to market well, and consistently, it can
be a lucrative niche to compete in.

The "something for nothing" make-money sub-niche
is a complete waste of time however. if you don't have
money to build a business I would not recommend you
try to compete in the make-money niche.

I've been making cash online for awhile now and about four months ago I decided to write an ebook and sell it. So far sales have been better than projected. If you are honest about the time and effort that needs to go into making cash online, not like all the get rich quick scams, then you can still make a nice living in this niche.

You know, that us a hard one for any niche. I personally think anyone can market any niche if people believe them! There are many MMO BS blogs out there. Full of trash and just sitting there to collect a few google dollars.

However, a good blogger who offers valuable info, people will follow, listen to, and share with others.

if your truly interested in the niche, go for it. Do not let anyone tell you any different. Many people have failed at the MMO niche, as there is much competition and they will tell you not to do it, but just becuase one is not successful does not mean someone else can not be!

Go with your passion and something you know about, but also make sure there is money in the niche if you need it to pay the bills. You are way better off going for a large niche with competition than to dominate a niche nobody wants to spend a dime in. Don't listen to the people that tell you that you can't do something because a market is supposedly saturated, there is room enough for everyone.

Yes,just go ahead by setting up the site.
Coz frankly speaking there is a lot of niche that are already saturated, and its impossible to find 1 niche that are unsaturated.
And if you setup the site, you must think creatively by setting a site that stand up from current site.
Make your site special such as having nice design, lot of information, user friendly etc

No, but certain niches are very saturated. Web hosting for example.

If you are referring to "make money online" as a direct quote, then you are correct that there are multitudes of organizations, good and bad, that you will be competing with that are marketing under that exact catch phrase. But if you are selling a good or a service that offers some-type of "affiliateship", network marketing opportunity, MLM, or defined management program, than what you need to look at is the physical good or service, and determine whether that particular item is saturated, and if there is some opportunity for you to find a way to market that good in a different manner.

Here is a great example: A business partner of mine, whom I joint venture with on occassion, was involved in an affiliate type program (a "make money online") program that allowed people to act as "gold brokers" for lack of a better term. These brokers had to have a personal amount of $$$ wrapped up in this brokerage system, much like an insurance agent/agency has to have a certain amount of capitol to fund immediate claims. The problem is that the program itself was overcomplicated. My associate found a way to formulate a training campaign that taught individuals how to work this system appropriately, and ended up training over 10,000 people worldwide through the sale of training pieces that he developed for his team. Needless to say, he and his associates made some serious cheddar.
Long story short. The sky is the limit. Research the item/service, not the concept. Do your homework and treat it like a business. You will certainly find that if you find a way to seperate yourself, you will "make money online" and sell that idea to lots and lots of others...

Good comments, folks. I appreciate the advice. I recognize there is serious competition, but there's obviously money in it. I just find the whole thing fascinating.

There will always be people wanting to make money online, but to stand out in the crowd you need to be a little different than the rest. I agree with Angilina about a website, but you'll need to provide something of value. Is help to offer a free ebook on "How to.." to get people to your website, and on you mailing list.
