Is the internet falling apart?

Lately I've been noticing many websites are super slow to load, if they load at all. I swear it's not my computer. 85% of the websites load lighting fast, but the other 15% are screwed.

And this 15% are websites I frequent often, popular websites I know still exists, and are not complex sites with advanced features that my browser can't handle.

I've found no virus, and very little spyware (that's been removed now). I even went on another computer with a different connection and had the same issues with the same group of websites.

My internet connection is fine, I was downloading at 1.7mps a couple days ago.

Is the internet on the verge of crashing???? Or am I paranoid Mel Gibson conspiracy theorist???

Edit: Oh yea, I forgot to mention, these websites I have issues with alternate between slow and loading normally

 

The sites you visit may be very popular sites and they may have insufficient bandwidth that's probably why they load slowly.

 

Slow servers? Happens you know.

 

PARANOID, I do believe.......even though...............it might be.............

Trust me, these are not slow server issues. I mean, they could be, but I find it very odd that in the last 2 weeks I've had problems accessing big websites.

Test these out for me people!

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/shows/ <--- this loads 1/2 way and hangs
http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/04/07/business/yahoo.php <-- This loads ~20% and hangs
http://www.nytimes.com/ <-- doesn't seem to be doing anything

 

I have the same problem...I don't know what it's happening ...but for sure you're not paranoid

 

May be those sites' server can't handle the load so they become slow and take too much time to load.

 

I think the problem could be due to depletion of server resources or is it country specific?
Is the WWW became too crowded to navigate?

 

My internet seemed to be dying for a few weeks. Turns out I had some adware installed that parsed every page loaded and then inserted its own ads. I just didn't notice because the banners were in the right places. May be good to check your system with NOD32....

 

don't worry...internet in the future will be 10000 times faster....

 

Basically any website perfomance is depends on The graphics chosen, Database, programming langugae and style of coding...And yes ofcourse the server speed....... about its processor speed and memory.and the connection.....

 

Those three websites seem to load in around 10 seconds - Server maintenance?

Hello have you any anti virus program........please scan Your system with current updated one antivirus.

 

Youtube is eating much bandwidth, and it will may cause internet to fall in future...

 

Happens with me all the time.... this has become frequent ever since the undersea cables snapped and were repaired.
