Is the Google PR bar really important to you?

Are people really addicted to the PR display bar? What if your browser simply showed PR like so:



I think this way is faster because you get the reading right away, you don’t have to put your cursor onto the bar to get an exact reading without guessing. This is how my up and coming browser displays PR right now. I don't think it would be a problem for me to make it display the bar but that is just extra work... and the laziness

 

After a while, you can read the bar just like any number.

 

I use the firefox extension which shows the bar and PR number.

 

I used the firefox version but after some time ..i tend to ignore the PR of sites. Really .. i do not find PR of any use to people looking for real information

 

What does PR stand for? -_-

 

Nevermind! I googled it PR = PageRank (how I didn't guess that I don't know...)

How is it different from other PR bars and where would someone download it?

 

Not for me. I don't have any tools installed anywhere that show pr. It's like TV, over-rated and empty of any real meaning.

 

I use Opera browser (no PR bar or anything like that available), so I really just forget PR exists until I start seeing threads about an update happening. Do a quick check, look at my new PR, and forget about it again.

I think it is useful only when you are looking for link exchange partners

 

It's not even useful for that, since it's only accurate for about 6 hours every 4 or 5 months...

 

Yeah, but at least you will know if the site is penalised or not. Also, it reminds you to work harder to increase your site popularity.

 

I assume you mean the old grey bar indicator? That doesn't work any more.

 

Same for me, although I remember seeing some extension but you had to click a button to find out, you couldn't just glance over it.
