Is the first impressing on google so important...

    Hi all...

When I hear myself asking this question, it sounds a bit silly.
But few times already I had this question in mind.

Do you think the first time google index your site is important to future ranking? Do u think it's good to wait until your site is 100% ready for indexing?

    - I didn't exchange links with other sites yet, because I didn't want google to find my site. I know few people do the same. Maybe it's a wrong approach...?

    Guy.

I have no idea. My logic would say no though. Or that it has an insignificant effect on your future rankings.

i try to make sites i work on 100% complete before launching to google in combination with backlinks. so that the first indexing of the site will pick up all the pages and even if the site is only pr 0, all that page content is in google. i have found it takes quite a while for new pages to be indexed a second time after the first indexing.

    Our tests show....

Keep it a secret until it is checked, good navigation, clean site map, regardless of number of pages.

Then remove <noindex,no follow> or remove protection, and give it a link.

Then keep adding pages and content until you are extremely old.

Normally, first bot picks up HP, then comes back again to see if it is a changing page.

    No.

Google analyzes a page based on relevancy of the page contents and anchor links to the search phrase as it is when it spiders the page.

If this were not the case SEOs would be out of a job, as they mainly focus on improving pages and getting higher rankings as a result.

Ask yourself this question: Is your site *ever* 100% ready for indexing?

When I first started my site, I waited until it was ready. I don't do that any more. I get a few pages up; and let google find it. I don't use under construction pages, coming in 2050, that kind of thing. What is there appears complete.

I don't think Google cares about the first time indexing, my site only had one page and all broken links when it was first indexed by Google two months ago, now Googlebot crawls it every day. Keep updating is the most important thing.

Not that I want to be questioning everything, but is there a broad consensus on this? I have seen too many pages that are set in stone once and for all and they keep excelling on search engines.

I do not think a website is ever finished. Mine changes everyday.
