Is the "experiment" fad over?

I've wanted to make an "experiment" website in which I give myself a specific time frame to put several marketing trials to the test...

I know i've seen 10+ "experiments" which involved people making money and only a few of them have been successful.

I plan to document all my progress so that anyone could follow my exact footsteps and do the same for themselves.

The question here is... Would an experiment site like this be beating a dead horse?

I do not think so. Every experimenter is going to bring their own ideas and approaches to the table and the results will be somewhat different than other efforts. More importantly, the web is fluid and yesterday's experiment may not match up with today's web.

Testing is what Internet marketing is all about! I love to see real life examples of what works and what doesn't. I share my own experiments with my members.

I do this as just that, an experiment, I don't document or detail my findings for all to see.

    Experiment Examples:

    GiveUsaBuck.com
    - Two guys set out to get $300,000,000 at $1 a pop... I think they made it to about $100.

Robert G. Allen - A publication challenged the "father of internet marketing" to make $24,000 in 24 hours - he ended up making almost $100,000 in 24 hours. This is documented in his book Multiple Streams of Internet Income.

Sadly these are the only links I can remember, others would include a "pay for my wedding" website...things of that nature.
