Is the El Dorado over?

Looks like Google stopped the El Dorado for Publishers, Advertisers and Searchers alike.

They now have the money to play around for years to come and leave the rest alone.

It sems that it is more important for them to get all the info about publishers, advertisers and searchers, - all through their "free" services like:

    Toolbar:
    - gets them all info about your search behaviour!
Desktopsearch: - gets them all info about what else you have on your
    computer
Analytics: - gets them detailed reports about your sites performances and connections.
Gmail: - lets them know everthing you communicate with others...
    and other "free" services

So, who else is behind Google???
I just don't take the search game alone any longer.

I avoided everything there except the actual engine.

Why use gmail when you have a server. Desktop search, thats okay I know my HDD by heart. Toolbar I dont need and got addons for firefox to replace all its uses.
