I want to register a domain name, but I wonder is it actually important what domain ending it will be? For example many .com domains are already taken. But other domains like .net, .eu are not very popular. What do you think, if my aim is USA/UK visitors will it be advisable for me to buy a .eu domain, or will it be better if I buy a .com domain? (somehow I think .com will always gain more traffic)
It would definitely be better to buy a .com, it is true that most .com's already taken. More people are drawn to .com's vs. .net's or .eu's. So I would say yes, if your aim is USA visitors, then a .com would be your best bet.
The domain extension is not important, what's important is the 2nd level domain. Keep in mind that 2nd level domain must be short and be easy to remmember. Personally ill'd rather have a short, easy, single and memorable word.eu, word.tv, word.ca, word.cc over long and hard to remember word1word2word3.com, word2word1word3.com, word1word3word2.com or word.eu over rowd.com Good luck trying to find a single word .com *lol*
.com is used as default domain name extension. In any case domain name makes your web site popular, not vice versa.
Personally I don't care much about extensions but all the smart guys say that .coms get more attention from the crawler algorithms.
Kamran.Sak you cant post your domains on every signle thread! You have forum Buy/Sell/Trade -> Domains .... Open new thread and post there! Stop doing this!
If you are looking a domain for US then go for .com and if you are looking for UK then go for .co.uk. .com is easily indexed by the search engine so it is important . Regards, Raicol
