So I was just wondering if this is a good route to go? I have a buddy that has offered to sell a 300k article database for fairly cheap. I could easily setup a site with it and get some links going, etc. Is it worth it or should I just keep on moving?
if all the 300k articles are unique, then i think it is. If not, then it's probably out there and everywhere.
I think its a very competitive niche. Most of people just go for ezine articles and all the other article directories no matter how old or how big are just getting zero traffic.
You can collect articles from a million different sites. That's why he is selling them cheap. Dupe content has sucked for a few years.
the thing is mostly webmasters only want to submit to the 3 or 4 top article sites so other sites hardly get much traffic
The ONLY article directory that ever gives me any traffic is ezinearticles. But I submit tons of articles to other blogs: which gets me anchored links - and the links is what will drive you up the SERPS. That the whole point of the article submission industry to get you backlinks not traffic directly. I do think article directories are being heavily ignored by google at the moment - which is why I went with a product which posts to blogs instead
