The age of flying cars is already here and has been for years. People drive there cars off cliffs all the time. Now, that's flying!

Anything is possible I guess, but a car is not an airplane. Why would it need to be a car that can fly? If someday they make common personal aircraft everybody uses to get to work and run errands with it will probably evolve from airplanes or helicopters. Something like a helicopter would be better, but much more compact and less expensive to make than it is now. Even a cessna 2 seater is about 24 ft long and wingspan of 33 ft, too big just for the normal person to use everyday and find a parking space easily. It is interesting to know a company is pursuing this, but a HUGE amount of work would need to be done to make this reality. I would say maybe in 50 years if we haven't nuked the whole planet by then...

Highly unlikely in, atleast, the next 10-15 years, even more. They predicted flying cars now back in the 60s.

this car can take off vertically from ur driveway. This is a huge advantage if they can get costs down. I just love futuristic stuff like this. They will have a challenge getting new investors but im just keeping an eye on this out of sheer curiousity. The stock i like most is tiny because i feel nanotechnology will be the next boom in the stock market , but imagine telling your wife that you going to disneyland with the kids and u will be back in a while lol

Check the car out on their website. moller dot com

I agree with Rebecca, why it has to be a flying car? Probably, by the word "car" we can assume anything parked near your house, that can fly, helicopter (tiny), anything, but not a car. The other question, what will be the fuel for it? Hydrogen is our future, BMW knows that ;) As well as some huge russian companies working on this.

I'm quite sure a flying car...which we would have to label an airplane or helicopter.. would be far too advanced for the masses to drive... You would need an aviation license most likely, insurance to cover casualties in a technology that nobody knows about.. a new system of traffic control.. and certainly a new legal system.. Flying car.. in my lifetime.. highly unlikely. It would be more imaginable if all my neighbors were now flying their helicopters to work...

No ...for a simple reason ...the energy required to keep a body in air is much greater than the energy required to move it on ground.

Airplanes have become popular because they can cover large distances in a short time...helicopters have become popular because they can access terrains which road vehicles can't.

I don't think there is any possibility of making a flying car in the next 50 years, that can replace today's road car for day-to-day work.

If they can get a car to fly then why can't they make a flying car make a good coffee? Now that would be something :D

Your talking about the moller skycar, if the stocks are going up like that its definitely a sign of something. Moller has had some pretty big investors jumping in so he is a big player. Along with terrafugia and pal-v. there are others, Check out this site on future flying cars. Its newer and getting organized but its a good start.
