Is Text advertisement ( i.e word in blog post is ad) good idea?

Hey guys,

I've gotten approached by a company that basically gives product text advertisment.

You know those sites that when you hover over a word you get an ad. Well this is a product. Think of those hover ads, crossed with a chitika ad. Do you think this is a good idea or will it deter visitors away.

Could I use this in conjunction with Adsense.

Alright the company is ontok.com.

I read a little bit more about it. They link to products on Shopping.com. These links are affiliate links so they would be fine with Adsense.

Do you think I should use this?

Edit: Seems like I don't have control on which words are linked (is this always the case). It's just a javascript code that automatically highlights the words. So no control for me.

these sorts of programs tend to annoy users and generate little cash.

 

Those kinds of things annoy me when I'm browsing a site...think about it, if it annoys you do you think other people will like it?

That's a philosophy I (try to) go by..if I wouldn't like something myself I don't subject other people to it..
